1. Professional Overview

Business administration mainly studies the basic knowledge and skills of management, economics, and modern enterprise management, including the formulation of business strategies and internal behavior management of enterprises. It uses modern management methods and means to effectively manage and make business decisions, and sets strategic goals to ensure the survival and development of enterprises.

Currently, an important feature of global economic development is the transformation and upgrading of industries under the empowerment of the digital economy. Various forms of real and virtual economies are facing significant changes. Compared to the rapidly developing advanced manufacturing and modern service industries, there is a shortage of applied and technical skilled business management professionals in Guangdong Province.

The main industries that the Business Administration major connects with include fashion, beauty, customization, leather goods, automobiles, physical retail, e-commerce, exhibition, etc. The job groups include: production management, quality management, project management, enterprise administrative management, logistics management, marketing management, information management, service management, operation management, human resource management, enterprise management consulting, etc. The job group for docking is divided into four levels: business operation level, grassroots management level, middle management level, and senior management level (including independent entrepreneurship). The main job responsibilities of the business operation level are technical operations and customer service. The primary job responsibilities of the grassroots management level are to manage and coordinate the personnel of the business operation level. The main job responsibilities of the middle management level are department management, coordination and communication. The senior management level (including self entrepreneurship) mainly plans and manages relevant departments of the enterprise from a strategic perspective.

This major cultivates composite applied talents who meet the needs of the market economy development in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area in the new era, with comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, beauty, and labor, and possess a certain sense of patriotism, healthy personality, international perspective, innovation consciousness, craftsmanship spirit, and practical ability; Master the basic theories and knowledge of business management majors such as management, economics, and modern enterprise management, possess basic skills in project management, human resource management, marketing, business services, e-commerce operations, and business communication skills, proficiently master the technology, skills, and tools of modern enterprise management, enterprise administrative management, digital and information processing, possess the ability to analyze and solve practical problems in enterprise management, and possess good professional ethics and comprehensive qualities.

4. Characteristics of Business Administration

This major connects with the industries in the Greater Bay Area, following the OBE concept of "student-centered, output oriented, and continuous improvement", and closely follows the needs of the industry to construct a talent training program and curriculum system, with collaborative training between government, school, and enterprise.

Adhering to the educational philosophy of "student-centered", promoting the integration of "four educations" and leading the profession with value. Integrating ideology and education, science and education, innovation and education, and industry and education, to cultivate high-quality applied business management professionals.

Implement a step-by-step talent cultivation model of "four in one" (teaching, projects, activities, competitions) to achieve high-level learning. Based on the integration of the four religions, driven by college student climbing plans and innovation projects, and using competitions and second classroom activities as the starting point, a distinctive talent cultivation model has been formed, which includes "teaching to promote competition", "teaching to promote employment", and "teaching to promote entrepreneurship".

Guided by the construction of the "Four News", we will construct a new curriculum system for business administration majors in the field of business, highlighting innovation and timeliness. The course adds digital driven and enterprise innovation, business planning and service innovation, and other "digital+professional" elective modules to create a multi type, multi-dimensional, and diversified "golden course" system.

A "dual teacher" teaching team composed of "four mentors" with rich practical experience in enterprises. Professional mentors, employment mentors, ideological and political mentors, and enterprise mentors form a strong joint force in educating people, adhering to the principle of cultivating morality and achieving "comprehensive education".


5. Teaching Conditions

The school library has a relatively rich collection of professional books and digital resources, including 86432 paper books related to business management, 25917 electronic books, and a large number of international and domestic economic and management journals and magazines, with an average of 114.94 books per student, which can meet teaching needs. The school has also purchased electronic resource platforms such as China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Database, VIP Database, and Guoyan Network, which facilitate the updating of teachers' teaching content and students' self-directed learning, and expand their reading volume.

The business administration major has three professional laboratories, covering an area of 460 square meters, with a total construction investment of 1.0658 million yuan. The professional laboratories can provide each student with Internet access conditions, effectively supporting the development of experimental training teaching.

The Business Administration major has established a practical education base for college students in Guangdong Province, and has deeply cooperated with multiple industry associations and well-known enterprises in the Pearl River Delta to form a professional guidance committee with more than half of the industry and enterprise personnel. They have collaborated to develop talent training plans, jointly built a teaching team, industry experts, enterprise mentors, and school teachers to jointly teach, and constructed a school enterprise collaborative teaching quality evaluation system. The school enterprise collaboration has improved the practical teaching conditions, allowing the industry and enterprises to fully participate in the discipline and professional construction, curriculum construction, and talent training process. The proportion of practical teaching positions developed by the college to the number of students each year exceeds 1.5:1. Intern students are 100% equipped with corporate mentors, and their graduation thesis is 100% authentic.


6. Employment Prospects

Graduates of this major mainly target advanced manufacturing industries (new energy vehicles, fashion, beauty, industry, etc.), modern service industries (physical retail, e-commerce, exhibition, etc.), government departments and public institutions in the Pearl River Delta region of Guangdong Province. They are engaged in operational management, marketing management, human resource management, administrative management, business services, e-commerce operations, exhibition services, and other business operations and grassroots management positions. After about five years of training, composite applied talents who can be promoted to middle and senior management levels in enterprises and even start their own businesses.


7. Teaching Staff

The Business Administration major has a faculty team with rich theoretical teaching experience and practical guidance ability. There are 32 full-time teachers, most of whom come from 985 or 211 universities or overseas students. The proportion of doctoral and master's degrees is 100%, and 75% have lecturer or higher professional titles. Most of them are "double qualified" teachers with work experience in enterprises. Most of the teachers have been teaching for many years, and the teaching team is stable, with a reasonable mix of elderly, middle-aged, and young students. This major also hires more than 20 enterprise mentors with rich practical experience to undertake some teaching tasks (professional skills courses, collaborative education courses, graduation thesis guidance, academic lectures, etc.).
