At present, the demand for international economic and trade professionals in the industry mainly presents the characteristics of "increasing total demand and diversified demand sources".
Training Objectives
This major is mainly aimed at the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and aims to cultivate composite applied talents who are all-round developed in such areas of morality, intelligence, physique, beauty and labor, have national feeling, healthy personality, international vision, craftsmanship spirit and innovation ability, master the basic theory and professional skills of international economics and trade, and have the professional ability and comprehensive quality to independently complete all aspects of international trade business. 1. Features of "Professional + practical ability" training. It emphasizes the integration of production and education, pays attention to the cooperation between school and enterprise, and highlights the cultivation of students' practical ability. Departments and enterprises jointly develop school-enterprise co-construction courses, and enterprise tutors participate in practical teaching guidance and achieve remarkable results. Campus concentrated practice teaching: ERP software and its application, business negotiation training, international trade simulation, economics sand table, enterprise practice teaching course design, campus simulation comprehensive practice.
Enterprise practice teaching project: According to the actual needs of students participating in international economy and trade business and expanding professional frontier knowledge, there are six enterprise practice teaching projects including online self-learning expansion module course, professional morality education, field research, production (professional) practice, graduation practice and graduation thesis. In the process of enterprise practice teaching, the synergistic effect of professional tutors, thesis tutors, enterprise tutors, vocational tutors and ideological and political tutors will be brought into full play to help students expand their professional abilities and improve their professional qualities.
Teaching conditions
The practical training place of this major is the comprehensive laboratory which has been built by the college. The laboratory covers an area of about 5,371 square meters, with a total investment of 14.83 million yuan. It is composed of two parts: the economics and management laboratory and the interdisciplinary and cross-professional comprehensive simulation practice platform. It is a key experimental teaching center of the university and a key experimental demonstration base in Guangdong Province. The laboratory has international trade business simulation software, document system simulation software, comprehensive simulation practice and software required for international economics and trade professional practice. It provides a good learning, research and practice environment for the teachers and students of international economics and trade.

Teaching Staff
There are 23 full-time teachers in this major, including 4 doctoral students and 19 master students, covering the fields of international economics and trade, economics, law, management and so on. There are 3 professors, 5 associate professors and 11 lecturers. 35% of the teachers have senior titles. In terms of age structure, more than 80% of the teachers are young and middle-aged under 45 years old. Among the teaching team, 7 teachers have practical experience in the government's foreign trade administration agencies and foreign economic and trade enterprises.
