The Objective

The Course of Engineering of Material Forming and Control is designed to cultivate students with professional theories, knowledge and skills in the area of material engineering and develop students to be an manufacturing engineer.

Knowledge, Skills and Capabilities

Students who complete the Course will be able to understand, appreciate and apply theories and knowledges, regulations and practices, technologies and skills in the area of engineering of material forming and control.


The Course contains the theories and knowledges of material engineering, technologies and skills of material designing and manufacturing, softwares of CAD/CAM/CAE and 3D printing technology, manufacturing processes and rules for experimentation, research, design and making in fields of aviation, automobile, communications, digital products, household appliances, medical supplies and crafts. The Course is of 4-year duration.

Engineering Drawing and CAD, Engineering Mechanics and CAE, Fundmentals of Mechanical Design, Electrical and Electronic Technology, Mechanical Manufacturing, Mechanical and Electrical Control Technology, Computer-aided Design, NC Programming and Processing, Special Machining, 3D Printing Material and Molding Process, 3D Data Processing, Reverse Engineering, 3D Printing Equipment Maintenance and Application, 3D Printing Technical Services, Enterprise Management 


The Course is delivered in lectures, tutorials, workshops, and practicum laboratories in the first 3 years on-campus and internship in the fourth year in companies off-campus or abroad.   


The Course will be assessed by progressive learning tasks, final examination and graduation thesis/dissertation.


Bachelor of Engineering will be awarded to those who meet the requirements of graduation.

Graduates could seek a career in relation to material engineering in manufacturing companies and industries, particularly in the area of 3D printing technology, 3D printing product design, 3D printing reverse engineering, 3D data collection engineering, 3D printing equipment engineering, 3D industry related marketing in aerospace, automobile manufacturing, architectural design, digital products, household appliances, medical supplies and crafts.
