The Objective

The Course of Finance is designed to cultivate students with sound theorectical and professional knowledge and advanced practical skills in the area of finance and develop students to be a financial practitioner. This Course is articulated with those of Purdue University and North Alabama University of USA, where students may study 2 years in China and 2 years in USA to acquire two Bachelor degrees of China and USA and is articulated with West Sydney University of Australia, where students may study 3 years in China and 2 years in Australia to acquire a Bachelor degree of China and a Masters degree of Australia. 

Knowledge. Skills and Capabilities

Students who complete the course will be able to understand, appreciate and apply fundamental theories and practical skills, to be familiar with the operational mechanisms of various financial instruments, to use  common financial instruments to invest and manage finance projects, to conduct investment and financial analysis, to deal with business in banking, securities, investment and insurance, and be proficient in a foreign language for financial business operation.


The Course contains  the theories of economics and of banking, securities, insurance,the rules and regulations of financial institutions and markets, and operational skills to manage risks and returns in finance. The course is of 4-year duration.

Core Units

First Year: Microeconomics, macroeconomics, an introduction to  finance, principles of management, money and banking, international finance, and financial market.

Second Year: Finance, securities investment, insurance, corporate finance, and financial derivatives.

Third Year: Commercial banks' operation and management, behavioral finance, financial services marketing, financial risk management, financial economics, and financial comprehensive simulation practice.

Fourth Year: Enterprise research, professional practice, graduation practice, graduation thesis.


The Course is delivered in lectures, tutorials, workshops, and practicum laboratories in the first 3 years on-campus and internship in the fourth year in companies off-compus or abroad.   


The Course  will be assessed by progressive learning tasks, final examination and graduation thesis/dissertation.


The Bachelor of Economics will awarded to those who meet the requirements of graduation.

Career prospects

Graduates will be able to seek a career in the field of banking, securities, trust, investment, insurance and other related business in financial institutions, financial companies, and government departments.
