About Us

The College of Physical Education presently encompasses the Department of Physical Education, specializing in Leisure Sports and Social Sports Instruction and Management, the Public Physical Education Teaching and Research Section, the Experimental Teaching and Venue Management Center, the College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, the Physical Fitness Testing Center, and the Office of the College of Physical Education, along with several other departments. Our college undertakes not just the teaching, training, and scientific research related to Leisure Sports and Social Sports Instruction and Management majors, but also organizes university-wide physical education and various sports activities for all students. We place immense importance on developing our majors and talent system, adhering to the internal philosophy of "leading with major development and benchmarking against high-quality sports talent cultivation." We have established fully equipped, technologically advanced indoor and outdoor stadiums, laboratories, covering over 30,000 square meters, and maintain more than 20 powerful off-campus practice bases for our college students. Furthermore, we've assembled an exceptional faculty that blends athletic and academic excellence. Currently, our college boasts 7 professors, 7 associate professors, 11 lecturers, 27 teaching assistants, 3 individuals holding doctoral degrees, and 48 with master's degrees or higher. Among our coaching staff, we have three national-level athletes, four national first-level athletes, six second-level athletes, one international referee, one national coach, one national first-level coach, and seventeen national first-level referees. Throughout the years, our college has garnered numerous accolades, including being named one of the National Top Ten Climbing Clubs, a National Flat Belt Sports Promotion Demonstration Unit, a Guangdong Outdoor Climbing Training Base, a Chinese Judo Association Judo Characteristic School, a Guangdong Education Workers' Dragon and Lion Cultural Education Activity Base, a Guangzhou Dragon and Lion Inheritance Base, and a Guangzhou Baiyun District "Guangdong Awakening Lion" District-level Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Unit. In terms of scientific research, our faculty has published over 100 high-quality papers in sports journals in recent years. Our students have also excelled in competitions, winning 12 national first prizes, 55 provincial first prizes, and over 1,000 second and third prizes in various sports events. Additionally, more than 60 of our club students have been admitted to graduate programs in sports through cross-major exams. We have also successfully hosted prestigious events like the 2023 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Climbing Open and the 2022 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Shuttlecock Open.

Thanks to the relentless dedication of our Baiyun sports community, Baiyun sports have undergone remarkable progress and established itself as a prominent private sports institution in China.

Looking ahead, the Baiyun College of Physical Education remains committed to innovation, excellence, and the guiding principle of "integration of sports and education, health first." As we advance our dual-track system of club teaching and training, we will align with national and provincial directives, actively recruit retired high-level athletes and coaches, and establish a series of clubs focused on competitive training and enhancing athletic performance.
