A delegation from Richmond, The American International University in London, visited our university.

On the morning of April 2nd, an international exchange meeting was held in the International Conference Hall on the North Campus of our university. The meeting was attended by a six-member delegation led by Professor Philip Deans, President of Richmond, The American International University in London, along with Wang Shanming, Director of the Strategic Investment Department at China Education Group, and Zou Mingmin, Deputy Director of the International Education Department. From our university, President Yong Heming, Xie Yuanxia, Deputy Director of the International Exchange Department, and Liu Jin, Deputy Dean of the International College, were present. The meeting was chaired by Xie Yuanxia.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, President Yong Heming extended a hearty welcome and sincere greetings to President Philip and his delegation. As a leading private university in Guangdong Province, our institution has always been committed to advancing international education and creating a broader development platform for our staff and students. President Yong Heming emphasized that this exchange with Richmond, The American International University in London, presents an opportunity for mutual benefit and to jointly foster deeper internationalization of education.

During the meeting, President Philip first expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and provided a detailed overview of Richmond, The American International University in London's operations. He expressed hope to further explore avenues of cooperation between the two universities through this amicable exchange. Both parties engaged in thorough discussions on topics such as enhancing student academic qualifications, developing international education projects, facilitating short-term visits, and recognizing credits. To conclude, President Yong Heming presented President Philip with a souvenir symbolizing the friendship between our two universities.

Following the meeting, President Philip and his delegation visited the Ji Wenbo International Fashion Design College, the gymnasium, and the staff cultural activity center, where they experienced our university's signature dragon and lion dances. At the staff cultural activity center, teachers from the School of Foreign Languages showcased Chinese painting to the visiting delegation, who in turn demonstrated their calligraphy skills. Meanwhile, student commentators from the School of Foreign Languages provided an insightful tour of the center for President Philip and his team.

Later in the afternoon, a student exchange meeting was conducted in the academic lecture hall of the North Campus Library, with 165 student representatives from various colleges participating. The session was facilitated by Teacher Zhou Jing from the International College. Students actively engaged President Philip with inquiries about studying in the UK, which he enthusiastically addressed.

Richmond, The American International University in London, established in 1972 and situated in the heart of the UK capital, stands as the world's only non-profit private liberal arts university awarding both British and American degrees. The institution is also recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Education. With campuses on Richmond Hill and in Kensington, its alumni span over 100 countries globally. It is accredited by the British Privy Council to award master's and bachelor's degrees, and is also certified by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools in the US. Remarkably, it is the sole university globally accredited by both the UK and the US, the two nations with the highest standards in higher education, authorizing it to grant dual degrees from both countries.

The visit from the delegation of Richmond, The American International University in London, underscores our university's proactive stance and steadfast commitment to international education. Moreover, it lays the groundwork for the comprehensive advancement of our international education endeavors.
