President Yong Heming Attends the 8th China-Russia Expo

From May 16 to 19, President Yong Heming attended the 8th China-Russia Expo in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. During his stay, he met with the Deputy Director of Russia's Ministry of Science and Higher Education's Department of International Cooperation, the Vice Chairman of the Russian International Union of Instrumentation and Information and Communication, and leaders from over 10 Russian universities, including Saint Petersburg State Polytechnical University, Pacific State University, South Ural State University, Mordovia State University, Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, and Irkutsk National Research Technical University.

During the talks, President Yong Heming introduced the development history, educational philosophy, and internationalization efforts of Guangdong Baiyun University to the Russian side, expressing his hope to establish long-term and stable strategic partnerships with relevant Russian universities, research institutions, and companies to jointly promote industry-education integration, collaborative talent cultivation, and providing support in the form of high-quality applied international talents and intellectual services for the economic and social development of China and Russia. Both sides also discussed in depth specific projects in areas such as teacher exchange, student exchange, postgraduate education cooperation, and academic research cooperation.

The China-Russia Expo is a national-level and international large-scale economic and trade expo approved by the People's Republic of China government and jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. The 8th China-Russia Expo was held in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, from May 16 to 21, 2024. With the theme of "Cooperation, Mutual Trust, and Opportunities," the Expo featured a series of national, inter-regional, and cross-sector supporting activities focusing on local cooperation, economic and trade investment, science, technology, education, cultural tourism, and youth exchange.
